Mary Beth grew up on a working farm near Madison, Minnesota. She attended Moorhead State University, majoring in Elementary Education, and went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University. Her teaching career began in the South Washington County School District and was primarily in the city of Woodbury. Mary Beth and her husband Rob spent many great weekends at their lake cabin on Palmer Lake near Park Rapids. As time went on, the question arose…”What if we actually lived in this beautiful part of Minnesota year ‘round and left the city and the traffic behind?” And so in 1996 they bought a home on Big Sand Lake and have never looked back. Park Rapids quickly became home (they are both small town folks) and church, golf, fishing, hunting, dog walking, relaxing on the screen porch and comparing notes with lots of other “Twin City Transplants” became a way of life. Rob found that his business as a commodity broker was easily handled from his Andco Investment Services office in Park Rapids. And Mary Beth decided that the female fashion industry was something that she might be highly qualified for. In 1999 she opened Merry Bees women’s boutique in Dorset and expanded it to Main Street Park Rapids the following year. Both stores thrived. Then in 2007 an interested buyer made her an offer that she couldn’t refuse, and Merry Bees became an achievement on her soon to be updated resume’. Real Estate is her next big adventure. She feels that her past two successful careers have prepared her well for busy and ever changing and challenging world of Real Estate. She is enjoying the challenge of finding that "just right" property for her buyers.
